The church is built of sandstone and is therefore in keeping with the Brabant Gothic style of the 15th and 16th centuries. The west tower is 50 meters high and 6.5 meters wide. It is crowned with a narrowed spire that has been surrounded by a balustrade since the restoration in 1896. In the turret on the south side is the spiral staircase that provides access to the tower and the bell chamber.
In the church there is a wooden statue of Saint Gertrude above the altar. The Stations of the Cross in the side aisles is a copy of Jan Van Eyck's Stations of the Cross from the Kapelle Church in Brussels and was painted by a certain Lambrechts.
