An old-fashioned 'death field', intended for 'dissidents', was written above the article in the Vierklank of 24 October 2017. The photo shows the entrance gate. The 'Lost Cemetery' was built in 1874. Maartensdijk's two official cemeteries were exclusively intended for members of the Reformed Church and Roman Catholics were buried in Utrecht in those days.
