Very beautiful fountain in Steinach, which represents a piece of fair tradition. The fair boys are dancing on the base and on the edge you can read: GÜGER- AUSSCHLEAGEN- ALTER KIRMESBRAUCH.
The gargoyles are designed accordingly as roosters or Göger in the dialect.

There are different explanations for the origins of the custom. In the late Middle Ages, a live rooster is said to have served the custom. For at least 200 years, however, a slaughtered rooster was used and in some cases a wooden replica was used. The custom has been documented since the 16th century.
