Protected by law for more than 20 years, the Desert de les Palmes Natural Park is located in the province of Castelló. It covers an area of more than 3,000 hectares, and is so diverse and scattered that it occupies part of five municipal terms: Benicàssim, Cabanes, La Pobla Tornesa, Borriol and Castelló de la Plana.
