The inn Schaumburger Ritter is probably the oldest inn in today's urban area of Rinteln. It is even older than the village of Rosenthal (today's Schaumburg) to which it belonged for centuries. Peasants, suppliers and mercenaries are said to have stopped here to serve and pay taxes as early as the 15th century. Today's house essentially dates from the middle of the 19th century.

At first glance, the 3-star hotel restaurant "Schaumburger Ritter" is not suitable for a stop during a hike. Unless you feel like running in hiking boots across the red carpet.
