Neuenhof Castle is one of Lüdenscheid's most outstanding monuments in terms of art history and town history. The moated castle is located in the south of the city in the Elspetal valley.
The main building is a rectangular two-story cube, the courtyard side of which is flanked by two towers with curved hoods. In the middle between the towers, a gable with a large carved coat of arms is the outstanding decorative element. The main building, which is surrounded by moats on all sides, is preceded by a courtyard of honor with flanking commercial buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries. A richly decorated wrought iron gate system is notable at the eastern end of the courtyard. Comparably representative structures are rather rare in southern Westphalia.
Very beautiful place. Great hiking trails.

The castle is not that big, but it is beautiful to look at and definitely worth a visit.
