    Sculpture by Pascal Demaumont at the initiative of Christian Guiot, the Tarasque, inaugurated in 2005. According to tradition, Marthe de Béthanie, from Judea, landed in Tarascon where the Tarasque, a terrible amphibian monster, was then rampant. The saint courageously and miraculously tamed the beast. Since then, many pilgrims have visited the royal Sainte-Marthe collegiate church, built in her honor up to the opposite side.
