The builder of the Burgsinn Castle was the former Duke of Franconia and Prince-Bishop of Würzburg, Konrad II von Thüngen, in 1524.
The castle, which is also called the "Hohe Kemenate", was completed in 1545 by Andreas VIII von Thüngen. He belonged to the line of the family based in Burgsinn, hence the name of the castle.

Particularly worth seeing is the former office of Konrad II von Thüngen (1466 - 1540), the former Duke of Franconia and Prince-Bishop of Würzburg. The Renaissance hall, decorated with magnificent wood inlays, was extensively renovated in the 1960s. The rich carvings were repaired or added in keeping with the style. The wall paintings were also uncovered undamaged.

The jewel is the room's oak door. The portal with the inlays is made of twenty different types of wood.
