Historically, this station was opened at the same time as the opening of the light rail railway route Rancaekek–Tanjungsari which was inaugurated on February 13 1921. The aim was to reach plantations in the Jatinangor area.
This station and the line itself were decommissioned in 1942 because they were dismantled by Japanese romusa workers. Now this station building has been converted into the Tanjungsari ABRI Retired Military Association secretariat office.
