The Neustadt Town Hall in Salzwedel was built around 1585 and served as the town hall of the new town until 1895. After the unification of the old and new towns in 1713, it was used as a joint town hall. Unfortunately, the building was destroyed in a major fire in 1895, leaving only the town hall tower intact. This tower can now be climbed and offers a magnificent view of the town. Below the tower is the tourist information office for the Hanseatic City of Salzwedel. In the immediate vicinity is the Hotel "Schwarzer Adler," a traditional hotel with a historic atmosphere. The hotel is another landmark of the town and offers visitors comfortable accommodations close to attractions such as the Neustadt Town Hall and other historic buildings.
