History: The Schäferhof in the municipality of Stemshorn used to be used exclusively for managing the Dümmer dikes. Since the turn of the millennium, the Schäferhof has been looked after by the Dümmerniederung Nature Area Association and used for landscape maintenance. The ZF company was already heavily involved in the founding of the association and has supported it as the main sponsor ever since. After the association gave up looking after the Schäferhof and the Hunte Water Association could no longer use the property for association purposes, a handover to a new owner was prepared. Since the beginning of 2023, the Nabu Lower Saxony has been looking after the Schäferhof.
