Above this wooden barrier is a weir that separates the stream and the canal to direct water to the power plant. The water is deliberately dammed up to a certain height in the canal, which increases efficiency. The very old wooden gate (barrier) was used to regulate the water level, but the necessary canal to the Möhrenbach unfortunately no longer exists. I can't say whether they operate the power plant, it was too cold for me to look at the facility.
