The trail leads through historic ground where monks of the Cistercian monastery of Chorin cultivated wine from the 13th century onwards. After a harsh winter in the 18th century, the vines froze, and the vineyard gradually transformed into a beech forest.

Today, the nature trail invites hikers to explore the natural and cultural history of the region. Along the trail, there are information panels that provide information about the local flora and fauna, and the historical use of the vineyard. Especially in spring, the blossoming wood anemones transform the forest into a sea of white blossoms.
