The Eastern Rietzschke begins its course in Zuckelhausen, fed by a few field streams, flows through the districts of Holzhausen, Zweinaundorf (the Hohe Graben coming from Baalsdorf flows here), Mölkau and Stünz. From the Sellerhäuser sports field it is piped for 350 m.[1] Then there was a stretch south of Wurzner Strasse through allotment gardens until it ends in the Leipzig sewer system. The area surrounding this last open piece was transformed into a 1.8 hectare public green space in 2021/2022, with the abandonment of 94 allotment gardens, and the sewer inlet was redesigned, reducing the risk of flooding for the remaining gardens
