As written on the sign in front of the porches, the Madridejos City Council built 5 livestock porches in the mountains of the municipality between 1948 and 1950. The objective was to take advantage of the rich and abundant pastures of this area of the Montes de Toledo.
These porches served as both shelter for the livestock and housing for the family in charge of caring for the sheep.
Before its construction, the shepherds lived in huts they made themselves.
Currently, there are two left, already in disuse, and a third that was rehabilitated and converted into rural accommodation with capacity for 22 people, a swimming pool, a large 70-meter living room with a fireplace, preserving the essence and decoration of the enclave.
