(German below) This beautiful, simple wooden church is well worth a detour. Although it is very simple, the architecture and its location directly on the Iijoki River give it that certain something. The Yli-Ii Church was designed by the architect Yrjö Sadeniemi. It was completed in 1932 and has a capacity of around 350 people. The chancel has bright, well-lit windows. To the right of the chancel is the small but powerful organ built by Tumor in 1984.
