Queen's Head is a striking mushroom rock formation in the Yehliu Geopark. Between 1962 and 1963 the upper concretion split to give the stone its present graceful shape. Seen from a distance, the rock resembles a bust of Queen Elizabeth with a long, slender neck and beautiful facial wrinkles, hence the name. The neck of the rock has thinned over the decades through natural weathering.
The stone is a popular photo spot and if in doubt, you may have to wait a bit for the photo.
