The Descent Down Scarth Nick to the Sign for Swainby Village, the average gradient of this Descent is -6% over 1.3 Miles peaking at around -20%. Be cautious as the road surface may be great but there is one hell of a hairpin half way down the descent where the ground is almost always wet, its very easy to slip out here.

Take care when wet as the corners can get very greasy.
