The Salobreja Lagoon, located in the municipality of Orea (Guadalajara), is one of the most unique wetlands in the Alto Tajo Natural Park, both for its geological origin and its biodiversity. The lagoon formed at the bottom of a large sinkhole, a depression typical of limestone terrain where water has dissolved the underlying rock.

In a valley belonging to Orea, it is a brackish water lagoon in the middle of a large meadow that, when overflowing, drains through the La Tía Raimunda Ravine into the La Hoz Seca River, a tributary of the Tajo.
