The waterfall is located above Geising on the road to Altenberg at about 660 meters above sea level and was created in 1954. It falls in two stages with a total drop of about 40 meters, separated by a short, flatter section. This makes it one of the highest waterfalls in Saxony. The upper part falls about 15 to 20 meters freely and can be seen from a viewing platform that is accessible from the road on a hiking trail.
