The village is beautifully situated on Lake Orzysz, providing wonderful relaxation to the increasing number of tourists. There is no holiday resort, but you can rent rooms in private accommodation.

The village is known, among others, from the fact that Michał Kajka (1858-1940) - a Masurian poet and activist, was born here. From 1883, he lived permanently in Ogródek near Ełk, and was buried there. Today there is a museum named after him, opened in 1968.

Melchior Wańkowicz mentions the meeting with Michał Kajka in his famous pre-war reportage from Masuria "Na tropach Smętka".

An interesting building is a historic warehouse made of field stone on the main road. The current school building is also interesting - it used to be a manor house, built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
