The Teisbachtal shows the cross section of an "asymmetric valley" with steep flanks exposed to the west and flat to the east. On the west side, a terrace runs along the estuary into the Isar valley to Oberteisbach. Asymmetrical valleys have formed due to differential erosion with soil flow in non-glaciated areas, mainly along N-S running streams, characterized by the cold climate. Post-glacial erosion transformed the valley into a sole valley.
