    This former capital used to have royal palaces, numerous Buddhist temples and old historic buildings, but now it's all just ruins.
    Abandoned for centuries, the beautiful monuments of this former capital have now been restored. And in July 1988, the park was officially inaugurated.
    In 1991, UNESCO recognized the Sukhothai Historical Park (Old Sukhothai) as a World Heritage Site.
    The area presents Siamese art in the early stages, symbolizing the establishment of the first kingdom.
