    Phanom Rung (full name Prasat Hin Khao Phanom Rung, Thai: ปราสาทหินเขาพนมรุ้ง, pronunciation: [praːsàːt hǐn kʰǎw pʰánom rúŋ], roughly: stone palace on Mount R ung, Phnom Rung means something like “wide mountain” in Khmer. is a temple district on an extinct volcano in present-day Thailand, located about 50 kilometers south of the provincial capital Buri Ram.
