The summit of Sugarloaf Mountain (known in Danish as *Sukkertoppen*) near Kangerlussuaq is one of the most popular hiking destinations and viewpoints in West Greenland. The mountain rises approximately 350 to 400 meters above the surrounding tundra landscape and is recognizable by its characteristic, rounded shape.
From the summit, you enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the vast arctic landscape. You look directly at the runway and buildings of Kangerlussuaq, the winding Kangerlussuaq fjord (Søndre Strømfjord), and the ravines of Sandflugtdalen. In clear weather, you can even see the glimmer of the Greenland ice sheet in the distance.
