Hiking Highlight
Recommended by Alice Baddeley
Visit the 15th largest kauri on the Coromandel Peninsula, a 1,200-year-old tree with a distinctive square-shaped trunk. The short walking track leading to the tree includes 187 steps and the viewing area provides excellent panoramic views of Maumaupaki (Camels Back) on the main Coromandel Range.
