To gain access to the French Ridge track you Nedd to continue along river right up through the woodland until you see this bridge.
Cross the river here and make your way on the opposite side of the river back on yourself to find the beginning of the track.
If you don't mind wet feet then you can always cross the river ... but it can be rapid here so take care
