On 2 June 2001, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the first film, two bronze statues of the two characters were placed in Piazza Matteotti, who "greet" each other from one side of the square to the other (that of Don Camillo in the church part ; that of Peppone in front of the town hall), created by Andrea Zangani.
