Nice labor and food place to rest. The view downriver is not to different from the other spots you pass by while walking here, but upriver you get a new perspective. Impressive after heavy rainfalls in the mountains.

Viewpoint over the upper end of the lower Rakaia Gorge. Turning point if you just want to do a short tour. It is a very nice hike up to the Upper Gorge but you do not see much new. The first two hundred meters in the direction of Upper Gorge Lookout should still be done.
