Idyllically beautiful cycle path, unfortunately the quality can be improved somewhat

The Wörpe is a river in northern Lower Saxony, Germany, and a tributary of the Wümme. It has a length of about 29.4 kilometers. The source of the Wörpe is near Steinfeld, a district of Bülstedt, about 10 kilometers southwest of Zeven. The river runs through Wilstedt and Grasberg before finally flowing into the Wümme near Lilienthal.

Historically, the course of the Wörpe was artificially altered between 1826 and 1864 to facilitate the transport of peat ships. Originally, the river flowed through the Truper Blänken and flowed into the Wümme near Hof Gehrden.

The area around the Wörpe offers numerous recreational opportunities, including hiking and cycling trails along the river. A particularly interesting area is the Truper Blänken nature reserve, which is characterized by a diverse flora and fauna.
