    The Graniteville Historic District is mostly a residential area, located at Rope Ferry Road near the granite quarries that were once a prominent industry. Originally settled in the 17th century and becoming part of New London until 1801, the district comprises 31 historical buildings recognized for their historical significance. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
