The Angel Oak is a magnificent Southern live oak tree located in Angel Oak Park on Johns Island near Charleston, South Carolina. Estimated to be between 400 and 500 years old, the Angel Oak is one of the oldest living organisms in the United States. The tree stands at a height of around 65 feet and has a canopy that shades an area of approximately 17,000 square feet, making it an awe-inspiring sight to behold. The Angel Oak is not only notable for its age and size but also for its sprawling, twisting branches.
