The Altburg near Stein-Wingert is an extensive Iron Age rampart with numerous – as yet undated – fortification phases. New finds such as coins, weapons and horse harnesses clearly show the supra-regional cultural networking of the Altburg with other contemporary structures in the areas to the right of the Rhine and as far as the eastern Treveri region.
