Picnic Island Park is a popular picnicking spot in southern Tampa. There is a lot of beach access at the back of the park, and the trails are a little less busy back here, too. Note that the beachside paths in the park are sandy and don't provide the fastest walking-terrain, but this just helps make these spots that much more private.

Picnic Island Park is a popular picnicking spot in southern Tampa. There is a lot of beach access at the back of the park, and the trails are a little less busy back here, too. Adding on a tour of Picnic Island Park to a longer run is always fun to check on the beaches. That being said, the "trails" aren't that great for running. The road isn't very busy if you are trying to run a bit quicker.
