Nothing reminds us of this village, whose origins go back to the 15th century. A typical manor of that time. The name can probably be traced back to the hill or mountain that extends behind the village as an extension of the Lower Lusatian ridge.

The Göhrigker Lake and old path connections to Jehserigk, Papproth, Wolkenberg or Kausche are still reminiscent of the once idyllic location. The hiker has access to a terminal moraine landscape that is worth experiencing. The estate changed owners several times, but always returned to the hands of the von Diepow family.

Brown coal mining began around 1880, initially in the "Holm" mine, named after Holm v. Diepow, on the property's premises. From 1898 in the "Merkur" mine. She left the lake behind. Signs on the hiking trail to Papproth provide information about the numerous mines.

The last residents left Göhrigk at the end of the 70s/beginning of the 80s.
