It is 32 meters high and in 1836 its top was decorated with Ghibelline battlements that still remain.
It features circular clocks with celestial dials: one on the facade that looks out onto Piazza Castello (with Arabic numerals) and another towards the intersection of the Quattro Strade (with Roman numerals).
