Trinidad is a city in central Cuba known for its colonial old town and cobblestone streets. The neo-baroque main square, the Plaza Mayor, is surrounded by stately colonial buildings. The Museo Romántico in the Palacio Brunet, a restored manor house, together with the Museo de Arquitectura Colonial presents relics from the time of sugar production in the city. The Iglesia de la Santísima is a 19th century cathedral with a vaulted ceiling and carved altars.
