After the village of Gambung Pangkalan, go straight and enter the forest. Don't be forced to turn right via the field route, it will end up going around in the fields later. Anyway, take the doubletrack route that enters the forest. There are indeed many intersections, if in doubt before entering the forest, just ask local residents for the route to Mekarsari or PPTK Gambung. Usually there are farmers or people on coffee plantations. If not, then good luck. Don't get lost.
