Inserted in the collection komoot.com/it-it/collection/2431081/-pietre-del-salento - You have to move away from the road and reach it on private land with the utmost respect for other people's property to see them. Let's not forget that dolmens are archaic elements that must be observed without touching them or worse climbing on them. They are the history and heritage of Salento.

Discovered in 1993 by Oreste Caroppo, a well-known enthusiast and connoisseur of the Salento area. The news of the discovery, at the time, captured the interest of several scholars, who immediately rushed to the site to carefully examine the two Megaliths. The Dolmens are located on a small promontory called the Plao district, a term of Grika origin, which would mean "chianca", or a slab of light stone, typical of the Apulian territory. Furthermore, on the surrounding rocky surface, there are a series of channels similar to those of the Dolmen Stabile of Giuggianello, most likely used to drain liquids during the performance of certain rituals.
