This church has its origins in a chapel that existed in the same place, which was then called Campo de la Jara. The current building was inaugurated in 1669, although it has undergone several renovations in later times, with the largest construction being built in the 19th century.

The impressive church was completed in 1669. The original, two-part baroque portal has been preserved on the facade. In the lower part there are columns of Corinthian order, in the upper part there is a niche with the figure of St. Anthony and twisted columns can be seen.
