Church of Sant'Andrea, Monteverdi Marittimo

Built shortly before the 13th century with a single nave structure, it proves to be important as it preserves a fundamental finding from the history of the village. The object in question is the baptismal font found near the small temple dedicated to the Goddess Bellona and where the monastery of San Pietro in Palazzuolo later arose, a monastery that gave life to the communities present on these hills of the Val di Cecina: Canneto and Monteverdi.
