During the Ancien Régime, the women's chapter of Andenne held the right of access to the parish of Lamontzée. The old Romanesque church stood in the rue de l'Eglise and was surrounded by the cemetery. In 1844 and 1859, plans were delivered for the restoration (architect Jean-Jacques Dormal) and reconstruction (architect Alfons Cuypers) of this house of worship, respectively, but neither project ever got off the ground. On July 7, 1861, shortly before its demolition, a plan was drawn up for this church. In 1863 it was decided to build a new, neo-Gothic church according to plans by architect Jean-Lambert Blandot (1835-1885) from Huy. The works were carried out by local entrepreneur Gilles-Joseph Cornet. The sacristy was added to the complex in 1866. The furniture largely dates from the same period as the church. It seems as if from the old church only the baptismal font and a crucifix (both from the 16th century), some statues of saints (St. Roch of Montpellier and St. Peter Apostle from the 18th century) and some liturgical vessels (17th, 18th and 19th century ) was transferred. Diagonally in front of the main entrance of the church is the monument to the fallen of Lamontzée. It was erected after the First World War over the graves of four fallen soldiers from the village. It was restored in 2006. Via Wikipedia.
