    Ski touring

Mono Pass is the next pass to the south of the paved Tioga Pass road leading into Yosemite National Park. The trail begins a few hundred feet to the east of Walker Lake on gravel/dirt forest service road 1N19, a couple of miles off Hwy 395 komoot.com/tour/14724870 . The trail follows the Walker Creek drainage steeply uphill with many switchback to the top of Mono Pass. From the Pass the trail enters Yosemite National Park, leads 4 miles northwest, down the Parker Creek drainage to Mosquito Flats trailhead at Tioga Road (Hwy 120) komoot.com/tour/14724868

    Running

Mono Pass is like a divide in between two worlds. On the western slope of the Sierras, the alpine environments are lush. On the eastern slope, look to Mono Lake and the desert Mono Valley.
