At a distance of less than 10 m they stood looking at me, but I didn't take a photo after all, it was just fascinating so close without a fence in between

Because she is not dangerous at all! The buffaloes are deeply relaxed :-)

You don't need to worry here - they are very peaceful animals. But you should have respect and keep your distance from them - so stay on the paths :).
