Due to the earthquake, the entire complex is sealed off with a construction fence and entry is prohibited.
The actual minaret is half destroyed, a miracle that keeps the rest of the tower.

This mosque was built in 1765 during the Turkish period. The style of the building, with its colour-contrasting window arches and arcades, is less reminiscent of an oriental house of prayer and more of an Italian loggia, hence the name "loggia mosque".
Unfortunately, the mosque was badly damaged in the 2017 earthquake, as were many other historic buildings in Kos.
