The Monte Generoso regional forest, located between Lake Como and Lake Lugano, is an area of rare beauty on the northern slope of Monte Generoso, in the Lombardy limestone pre-Alps. Characterized by deep wooded valleys and pastures such as Alpe Cotta, the forest boasts a predominance of beeches, birches, sycamore maples, laburnums and rowans. The presence of extensive reforestation of conifers, especially spruces, is interesting.
