The Haldeboeuf waterfall is one of the most beautiful attractions in the Spa area. It is an enormous crevasse which runs from the top of the mountain to the Eau rouge which flows at the foot and receives water from the torrent. The abundant waters... dug the ground to a great depth, discovering rocks and erratic blocks, digging capricious channels into the stone, resembling those of the Ninglinspo.
In fact, this interesting waterfall is often dry.

It is appropriate to write Haldeboeuf and not Halteboeuf, this toponym being used under this spelling in old tourist guides, notably the Cosyn “Spa” guide, around 1930. The place called Haldeboeuf probably evokes the rich steelmaking past of the Spa valleys. Indeed, stockpile is a metallurgical term meaning: Mass of materials which comes from gangue or discarded ores (Dictionary of the French language, Littré 1863). The word halde is no longer used in Little Robert of 1977.Louis PIRONET
