    Caballo Mountain is 10,496 feet high and is the highest point in Los Alamos County. The hike can get pretty steep at times. The true top of Caballo Mountain is on the Santa Clara Indian Reservation. There is an old sign near the summit that tells hikers it's fine to head to the top so long as they are hiking respectfully.
