The almost 400-year-old Navajas Olmo is one of the city's landmarks. Named “Tree of the Year 2019” in Spain and voted “European Tree of the Year” despite coming in twelfth place. Planted in the town square in 1636 during the city's founding. The importance of this almost 20 meter high tree is clear from the fact that it even appears on the city's coat of arms.

Navajas is a charming village in the interior of Castellón, in the Alto Palancia region, and one of its most beloved symbols is the centuries-old elm, known as "El Olmo de Navajas." Planted in 1636, this common elm (Ulmus minor) was declared Spain's Tree of the Year in 2019.
