The construction is mentioned for the first time in a parchment dating back to 1301, although it was subsequently heavily remodeled. The site on which it stands was once occupied by a medieval castle, which was later demolished. In 1582 it became a parish church, in 1690 it was rebuilt in Baroque style. The bell tower was built in 1677.
